EUNIC (European Union National Institutes for Culture) hosted annual workshops globally to promote global collaboration around culture and to promote cultural diversity and understanding. In 2009, the event aimed to link public, students and young professionals to the concerns and challenges of the living and housing conditions in modern South Africa. The event revolved aroung the question “Jo-burg: A city for who?” EUNIC hosted a unique range of lectures, conferences and experimental workshops. Participants included architetcs, urban planners and contemporary artists. The workshop would promote a global dialogue, research, best practice methods as well as co-creation towards cultural valued architecture. The workshops were attended bewtween 2008 - 2012.
