CS Studio Architects participated with Chamler University of Technology, University of Gothenburg and Jaramogi Oginga Odinga University of Science and Technology within the Compact Cities and Informal Settlement Research Project. The research aimed to explore qualities, drivers and strategies for promoting sustainable urban development. Together with Jenny Stenberg and Jaan-Henrik Kain, CS studio participated in investigating the spacial qualities of Langa, Cape Town. The workshop and research involved a 3-week program, using Maptionnaire; a web-based and geo - tagged survey tools to investigate the informal settlement. The focus of the project is on urban change in informal settlements within the global South Cities.
