The ENSA-V and the Study Abroad Program in Versailles from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign had the pleasure to announce the opening of the 4th edition of the Joint Green Box Workshop. Within previous yeas, both institutions had develop this workshop in order to introduce students to issues on sustainability in architecture while studying particular thematics or issues; this workshop had focused on transitory/temporary housing. In 2012, the design goal was to provide a decent, economical housing for individuals who were in a transitional situation such as recent immigrants, “new poors”, or socially displaced individuals. Workshop guest teachers for this included Nicholas Gilliland, Jeff Poss and Carin Smuts. The workshop on the subject of housing was held at the ENSA-V auditorium La Forge from February 27 – March 2 2012.
